Do you mean it takes up the slack before it fully engages or is physically moving about???

Why haven't you got the car back, where is it?

It seems that the Diffs have locked up half way round a roundabout.

When set on auto while manouvering wheel juddering is happening.

Subaru are looking into the problem. But he has more problems in which a phone call may be able to sort out.

If that's the fault, in answer to his question i've not had any problems with mine. I hope they sort it out for you quickly.
