This weekends mode of transportMy mate & i went to Laggan wolf trax mountian bike trails yesterday, it was the 1st time we'd both been out this year.
Had a fantastic day doing a few red runs then & a few runs on the bike park (big jump section) Here's the bikes we were using This was the bike i used i had it out as a demo as i'm trying to decide which model for my new bike. Its a Orange 5 pro & worth 2.6k I won't be spending that much lol. Its a top of the range full suspension bike that you can just ride over anything & it'll soak it all up. This is my mates Santa Cruz Cameleon which is a top of the range hardtail (no rear suspension) worth around 1.5k It takes a bit more thought to ride as you have to pick your line more than the full suspension bikes but more rewarding when you have a good run as you've done more of the work rather than the full suspension which does a lot of the work for you. Here's a link to a vid of the lower section of the red run we were doing to give you an idea of what the trails are like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyDXpUPjf7Y I was out again this afternoon on my local trails having another blast of the full suspension bike before i put it back in the morning.
Don't really know what to say, other than, pebble dash is a big thing up your way, why is that?
Adam @ Autotecnica spends a lot on bikes too... Maybe he will post pics of his bike. Nice to hear more about you Gee.
lol 90% of houses up here are harled (pebble dashed) Why? i don't know they just are

I've always wondered if they use pebble dash as extra insultation? It is a genuine question the always puzzles me when I'm in Soctland
2.6K for the bike !!
You need to put a topic up in the Garage section, mate ! Do you also ride on road bicycles?
No mate it's mainly used because the scots are too tight to paint every couple of years 2007 BMW M5
2004 Petter Solberg STi
No i have shorts that have a padded liner in them. They are baggy shorts with a cycling short that clips into them with a padded crotch/bum, means you get the support of the tight shorts but don't look like your wearing lycra
Sorry can't answer why it is they have it but its not for insulation, just the look really.
Like I said tight asses ....or after riding that bike sore tight asses 2007 BMW M5

Yeah i know its a lot of money but you can pay a LOT more than that, one bike i saw in a brochure that i liked was £7995 I just looked & thought thats nice checked price list & nearly fainted It was a full carbon frame mind you No i don't ride road bikes i find that boring, its the thrill of flying through woods with trees whizzing by or riding over rocks & hills that i enjoy, there's no real risk in road biking but you get a buzz from riding a trail knowing if you make a mistake you can splat a tree or something You wear leg & arm armour just incase of a bail (well i do) Only had one little of yesterday where my front wheels slid out on a slow tight turn, scraped the top of my knee but it was more funny than sore. My mate broke his collar bone once & another cracked his wrist.
Pmsl if that was the case i'd be out of a job, i'm a decorator & thats what i spend 6 months of the year doing painting outsides Maybe the English don't have it as they're to tight to pay for it or maybe because the english prefer the mock tudor look on modern houses
You sound like you're gonna be over here quicker than you think. You also into painting the inside of a 400 year old farmhouse?
Old houses are our speciality, a lot of the painters don't know what they should do when they come accross the old type coatings that can be in old buildings. We are Dulux select decorators & Trust mark approved, how many decorators give you a 2 year ICI backed guarantee? we do
I hope you also do beams. This house is built around them and I think the land-bitch didn't have them done for 400 years
True, I was just asking as you know road cycling is pretty big for us Belgians. Needless to say I was glued to the screen, as was the rest of my family, for occasions like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wgz3B7yK38 And then there is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nBHLHeT ... re=related
Watched both the vids, i remember the name Eddy Merckx from when i was young for some reason, did he have bikes named after him? something rings a bell in my head that one of my friends from schools dad used to have one of his bikes( he was into road racing).
I used to watch the Tour De France when i was younger, but it was BMX'ing i was into back then. Still you have to admire any sportsman at the top of his chosen sport. Road racing is big up here to there are quite a few clubs & regular races on the roads around the area.
