How can fishing be a sport? If the fish is lucky it will get dragged out the water by its lip...
Unlucky fish swallow the hook and who knows the damage that it can cause. Sport or a barbaric excuse of pastime to get away from the nagging wife? http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Erectile-d ... ction.aspx

Sorry, wrong link.
Re: How can fishing be a sport?
Love your subtle humour mate
When I was married... which thankfully only lasted 51 weeks...
My ex wife decided I needed a hobby... and it was fishing... All i did was get a loada tinnies in and some of that illegal green stuff that I know nothing about of course. It got me out the house away from that miserable cow! So I just sat there in nice weather and got off me head! Never caught anything like... Is that a common carp? Big fish! If in doubt...
FLAT OUT!!
always thought it was like going to watch cricket...
just an excuse to go out on the lash for the day....surely nothing really exciting happens. Unless you are off Cape Horn doing some shark fishing ofcourse. You should see the loonies up here in winter....they sit in the back of the car to keep warm whilst trying to catch something under 3 feet of ice!! Bonkers!
Saying that she was probably shagging all and sundry...
The old joke "How do you stop a woman F***ing you? Marry her..." summed it up. She stopped shagging me and was shagging everyone else... Altho she's wudda drawn the line at humping you! If in doubt...
FLAT OUT!!
LOL
Nothing wrong with a bit of fishing Bro, I used to partake myself, I spent a couple of seasons as a Salmon Ghillie on the river Halladale up in remote Sutherland, I've landed just shy of 50 salmon to the fly rod. After that I went away working on commercial fishing boats for a couple of years, fishing out of Dingle in Co.Kerry Eire and then later Fishing out of Greencastle in Northern Ireland on a commercial Crab boat. I never tired of wondering what was going to get hauled up from the sea bed next. Previously: Everything With 4 Wheels over 300bhp

more of a physical challenge than a hobby!! do you get to throw it on the coals afterwards??
M5's perhaps? Trying to turn slight bends in the road?
No, should be catch and release but it got caught in the prop on re-entry!!! Crew gutted it, cut it up and hid it in the cool box with the beers!! I assume it was sold along with its horn! Crash bang wollop!!
Nice one Mike, shame it didnt get returned though, there cannot be a massive population of them left.

Maybe you need a spell on a crab boat, It may teach you humility and when to keep your mouth shut. Previously: Everything With 4 Wheels over 300bhp

Maybe I don't, I've watched those fishing programmes on Sky.... bunch of moaning pansys... bit of stormy weather, bit of wind and rain, couple of sleepless nights, boat going up and down (whatever next on the high seas?) and they are all killing each other! I had to switch chanels to "whats the story from Ballamory?".... to see some rough and tumble
I think we both know you'd be on the deck spewing over the side, asking the skipper to turn back, those programmes glamourise the job, it really is the pits.

I am a from a sea-faring background... my grandfather was a captain in the Merchant Navy and served in the navy during WWII. My father used to race clippers when he was younger which I learnt on.
I've not raced one but I have sailed around Cape Horn with 2 mates of mine, if you know the seas around there, you'll appreciate that I probably won't be puking over the side in the North Sea "bathing pond" ....
crikey..if its not who has the better car....
its who has the biggest rod! girls, girls....its only a 'sport'!
Mild banter Andy.... Your ALS still working? Must be at least 10 hours since I asked you
