I must admit I would love to do one.
Only one draw back.... I'd look a complete running round the track, no smegging car!
If in doubt...

You can have a Scooby on the drive, but if the woman applies enough pressure to her thumb you ain't going anywhere near a track.... isn't that right John?

Yes I do BUT... I think my mate would be major league pissed off if I christened his car on a track before he did... But I must confess would be great to hear him rant and rave if I did do that!!! He's in Canada and he couldn't do a lot if I did! Mines a biker chick and she'd prob try n stop me coz in the corners and under braking I'd cream her!!!!!!!!!

Id like to do more track events but the costs put me off, last time i checked it was up to £200 to attend the day.. £200 insurance for the day + 1k excess.. need to buy helmet £??.. tyres n brakes wouldnt last too long if your doing it all day regularly..
other than that im game!

Who are you insured with? Most insured with KM can get a better deal for track cover. You could also opt for the option on no cover, and just drive within your abilities. Helmets needn't be expensive, IIRC mine was around £90, which saves borrowing a sweaty one for £10 or £20 each time.
Let's do it!

You'll soon have two free tyres around your ankles that are filled with concrete from what I have heard. Nice knowing you....

its not me on the track that im worried about -its those to**ers in CSL's that try and overtake via drifting on corners an inch off your car...
Im sure its all doable with adequate budget for fuel n tyres. How long are you on track for trackdays?
I must have done 22-24 hard laps at brunters which is probably why the alloys are now caked in brake dust... and my tyres feel bedded in nicely now lol

Thats a point, my clutch biting point feels quite a lot higher now, that will probably need a change soon... Do people normally fit third party "stronger" clutch and flywheels when the OEM ones go for a car producing standard power?

I dont see why trackdays should affect your clutch much unless you are stopping and launching. Tyres will wear a bit depending on how much hassle you give them, same with brake pads, but not as much as people tend to believe. Of course this depends on the amount of time you spend on track, and what tyres/brakes etc you are using.

Clutch - AP organic is a lovely bit of kit. Adam fits for reasonable money too. He can also supply cheaper options.

Had considered better pads, and hoses, but AP's front and back at some stage.
Or, there might be a plan B. Might be

Braided hoses?
hi foley i found the standard brakes to be shite
i changed the discs and pads and put braided hoses on my Wr1
then done a track day last week they worked brilliantly stoping power was so much better no fade no smelling either
they was not top end prices so for the money well worth trying out as ap breaks are very costly
oh and dan regarding track days my boss wants to go halves on a m3 and start track daying
i suggest the same car as you got we will see
Regs

Pound for pound braided hoses are one of the better value mods and made a real difference. People who say you can't feel the difference clearly didn't need the hoses in the first place.
