I spent the weekend as a guest of Chevrolet for their summer party at Beaulieu National Motor Museum. Basically my brother and I turned up at Vauxhall's head office in Luton on Saturday morning to find a fleet of Chevy's, from old 50's Impalas to a brand new 'Vette Grand Sport. We hogged a black Camaro Coupe and blasted off to the Ace Cafe where a BBQ was laid on for us. There was a 1M meet on and a Focus RS meet too. We jumped in a Chevy Volt for the hour's drive to the next stop at a farm shop and got fed again, then hitched a ride in a 55 Bel Air to the next stop at a pub, then blagged the keys to a Camaro soft top, put the roof down and spent the next 18 miles chasing the Corvette. When we got to Beaulieu we'd all got tents, luxury Portaloos and showers, there was a band on, as much beer as you could drink and probably every Crovette in the UK. After another BBQ it started p*ssing down with rain so we hit the sack. On sunday we had a private tour of the museum (excellent by the way), more food, and then left at 2pm to get back home. It was a pretty excellent weekend, I particularly enjoyed spreading V8 thunder all over southern England. Here are a few pics:
