I've always fancied a fantastic condition 1970s Gordon Keeble with a 5.7 litre Chevy engine. Or maybe a 22B. Both good investments in the long term (10+ yrs). TVR Cerbera's are well sorted now - I should know, and great cars for holiday touring. V8 AJPs sound great too - as Clarkson said - it was the second best sounding engine ever - after a Ferrari something. JC said the AJP sounds 'like two lesbians in a bucket'!

Nah. A real man drives fast on the public road, no need for a track.

Forget TVR's. I read a newspaper article that stated they laid off 1/4 of their staff due to financial difficulties. Apparently they will be bust in 6 months if no one rescues them.

Second car for me would have to be a new-style GT40 :D

Left an Exige miles behind at Knockhill in my old P1. Still say a 22B by now should have been sorted and a future classic, if not now. The new Noble got a great review in EVO or Car. Pick up an old M12?

A proper driver in an Exige (especially a 240R) would leave pritty much any other road car behind around a race track.

I once overtook a Noble at a Trackday at Donnington Park (in my Saxo !!!) and a friend couldnt keep up with a 306GTI in his evo 6 - means nothing, absolutely nothing.

The 22b is a 8) car, but I didnt realise they had reliability issues. So due to both that and their age now I doubt whether it would be a good idea. Something newer would deffo be my advice - how about the new Caterham CSR, 0- 60 in 3.1 secs

The question is whether Mark needs car for the track or a car to have fun on normal roads at weekends.

How about a Renault Sports Spider ?

You should hook up with ScoobyDan with ideas like that!

All weekend we have been looking at cars and he kept getting distracted by dodgy Fords driving past!
