Mother of all speedcameras

MAKERS of the dreaded Gatso speed trap are set to clobber motorists with a monster camera.

The Multi-Camera System is fitted with a car-zapping FOUR different lenses.

Three take stills, while the fourth videos back-up evidence.

They can be placed in pairs so if one is triggered the next takes a close-up of the motorist

:?

We haven't got metro's and the mother of all camera's would generally spend its time making pics of elks here

But we do a far more dooming 'control system': 5 million people that have been brainwashed by an overcontrolling, bloody communist government to snitch on anyone who drives a car nicer than a 12 year old Toyota Coroner at more than 30mph.
Imagine, if someone thinks you overtake them a bit fast, they'll actually call the police who will take the nice Finn's word for it and come and question you !

Hmm.. at the risk of going off-topic about the placement of fixed cameras, the only sensible option is to know the road you're driving on first. Then, at least you'll know what's suitable and you will have seen the cameras on your reccy - otherwise you're driving on a road you don't know, and in which case you shouldn't be driving too fast anyway. You can keep up to date on http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/

The 'daddy' cameras will be no exception and will be either replacements to existing fixed locations or, more likely, new locations. National forces will need to exercise jurisprudence in this respect and that's probably positive, as the public concern over camera placements is well understood.

I have no problem with their expanded features as the intention seems predominantly to capture speeding motorists across multiple motorway lanes simultaneously. The lines have always been there, but now they represent a greater certainty of capture.

Fixed cameras are not the issue - I fully support them as long as they are positioned in the right location - say, near a street where the EX54 plate idiot chose to race(seperate thread). Mobile ones are far more concerning though they seem mostly confined to motorways and dual carriageways at the moment.

The moral... - stay off the highway - have fun on the B roads you know and can both concentrate and anticipate unforseen events on - and if you want to race then get a track day sorted.

Having pontificated on all that, I've still got points on my bl**dy license after buying the scoob, so I ain't no saint it would appear

224km/h instead of 80 ...

But at least, I was on a completely open, empty road between two towns in the middle of nowhere, unlike our essexboy in the other tread.
It was midday, sunny, dry,... and I hadn't met a single car until that bl**dy white Nissan Primera came in the opposite direction... :?
