Another number plate question

Postby Blobster » Thu Mar 24, 2005 12:24 pm

I probably already know the answer but would any of you consider buying a private reg that only made sense on a WR1 (ie, no value on any other car) and HAD to be misrepresented to make sense.

My brain says, "no." I'd be inviting unwanted police attention....
....But that (very) sad part of me says, "It's only

hell yeah ... out-witting the police is part of the fun. although I am 11-0 down to them at the moment!

W121 WRC was the plate I wanted before those cheeky blighters down at Crossroads bought it before me!

Angle the 2 and it looks very much like WR1 WRC.

Go for it mate - will only add to the value of the car if it's WR1 specific

Ok. I've gone and done it.
As soon as I get the paperwork the wr1 will be wearing "S600B WR."

What do you all think?

Cool plate! 8)

The police just don't like Blatent abuse of the law. If there is a slight spacing issue they will prob overlook it. Unless your Gangsta Smurf, as then it's trousers down time every time you get stopped.

Got told off for 'reving my engine unnecessary, which could distract other drivers' at a set of traffic lights two nights ago!

they used to ask me that all the time. Now that pretty much every traffic car in the Southend area has pulled me up at least once they sort of know not to ask that question!

Another stupid question that they ask me ... "what speed were you doing back there??"

PMSL. I now make a point of looking at the nearest speed sign and saying 1mph underneath it! hehe. 8) 8)

OK, Iv'e got the paperwork done, had the plates made up, but the local Halfrauds have refused to fit them, "They're illegal!"
So where can I get them done?
Main dealer have said they will do it next week as well as the 1yr service but I want it done NOW, NOW, NOW.

Blobster :x

PS. Has anyone tried changing a tax disc yet? What a palaver. Did you lose one of the little screws down the air vent?

Yes I've changed the tax disc, I agree, very tricky, I've scratched the dash with the other end of the allen key and swore a lot, the screws are easy to cross-thread aswell....... Sumo

you should have put a towel underneath the tax disc holder, then if you did drop one they would'nt disappear down the vents. :thumb:

That's the real reason most people have sold their cars within 12 months, so they don't have to change the tax disk!

Get your old plates off, lay them on your new ones, then mark them , then drill them with a 6.5mm drill bit, be careful not to mix them up as the front measures different to the rear, then fit them being careful not to overtighten the screws as they snap easily... sumo :rules:
