New Cheap Runabout

Well I wanted to keep the miles off the WR1 as using it daily isnt much fun in stop start rush hour and is putting miles on it unnecessarily... SOooo I went on the hunt for a cheap runabout... went to view a skoda fabia VRS deisel (6k)... didnt like it...
went to have a go in a superchipped Astra CDTI 150BHP - chipped to 200bhp...(6k) Very torquey engine, about on par with standard focus ST!... but wheels spinning all over in the mildly moist roads...
So went to look at a Golf TDI (9k) which i liked, not quite as pully as the astra but a nice all rounder but couldnt justify the extra money for a car the same age...
So... ended up getting a test drive in a different golf whilst I was there. Now I dont quite know what happened or how it happened, must be some voodoo stuff going on but between the test drive and walking away, but I had a spur of the moment impulse moment and bought the car. Considering I was looking for cheap, economical runabout ive got the cheap bit right at least..(5k) lol... When I got home the missus went spare but "anyway"...
Car is a 2004 VW Golf 2.8Litre V6 4 Motion, will post some pics up soon once I get chance to clean it and take some pics. Needs a bit of work doing to it as it has been lowered with coilovers and wont get over a speedbump so that needs sorting asap. Also has inner wing induction kit which needs taking off as the filter is clearly getting drenched by puddles. Apart from that given its a 7yr old car, seems to do the job nicely. 204bhp, 4wd, does about 27mpg from first indications compared to 11mpg that the wr1 does for the daily commute so all round looks cool. This will give me a chance to get my surge issues sorted on the WR1 without being stuck without a car for work
