Brand New Porsche 911 GT3Porsche have finally done it ... they've made a model that I actually really really want to own!!
New 911 GT3!! Am loving the look and spec sheet of this car - puts a tick in every box. Styling, Toys, Interior, Rims, Performance ... just total automotive perfection if you ask me. http://www.pistonheads.com/porsche/defa ... ryId=13243 Am totally in love with it!!!
gt3Gangsta,just get it bought, you will look great in it,if I win the lottery I will get one myself.
Re: gt3
It's definitely on the test drive list when it is available in the dealerships.
The rear spoiler looks crap - totally crap - especially from the side profile.
But 0 - 100 in 8.7 seconds, now thats quick, real quick
What a fantastic car
Gangsta, not up on porkers, so what are the differences between this and the new turbo. obviously its a bit more hardcore but above that what are the the differences? If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
For a start......the GT3 isn't Turbo-Charged!
Sold out and bought an EVO......then sold it because it was rubbish!
The last GT3 was lightened, I believe, by using lighter materials rather than the car simply doing without (that would be the GT3 RS).
The GT3 is the basis for most Porsche GT racers so no turbo (better throttle response), lowered ride height, stiffer chasis and suspension set up, sharper/tighter steering rack, PCCB brake system, RWD not 4WD - and in white so the sponsor's logos stand out better !!! Nice, but i'd have the Turbo version all day long - the daddy 911, no doubt.
hehe!! To be honest Porkas aren't something I know loads and loads about. What I've found going out in a GT3 (old version) and a turbo is that the Turbo is the fat boys car. Loads and loads of power, delivered smoothly and quietly which means you'll think you're doing 60mph but you're actually doing more like 160mph. It's a very serene experience, you don't feel the sensation of speed. Secondly it's like sitting in Blenheim Palace too - loads of toys, leather, uber cool sterio and sat nav. GT3 is a hyper tuned version. They strip out all the shite you don't need, put in a roll cage, lower it, change the exhaust profile, change the induction, harden the ride and you feel every blip of the throttle, every mistake, every bump in the road. It's no way near as fast as the turbo but it will outperform it on track - which is where the GT3 is meant to be. The way I would liken it is to a Spec C Subaru vrs a regular STi.
Oh yes, now that to me is a thing of beauty
How about a group buy, 12 of us and share for a month each i will put my name down for the month of August Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk, because they have to say something.
I'm up for this... Lets make sure the service is due around the time that Pops has it for the month.
Fat Boy car in gangsta language is a car that you drive with a fecking huge cuban sticking out of yer mouth. Has loads of bling toys and you can pull up alongside something knowing that you are the daddy. In fact you can just assume the whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat position as soon as you get into the car.
Crash bang wollop!!
however I must just add Spike that if you now do not take your Turbo to Gemballa you are a fcuking homo!!!!

call me "hom------" simpson!! lol Crash bang wollop!!
but you used the word boxter ... that's not a porsche. It's a porsche kit car! Proper proper homos car - hey wait a minute. isn't there a pic floating about of Spike posing by his old boxter???? Where's Bro when you need him!!
I MUST have one of these cars next - no question whatsoever, having now driven the 996 GT3 I can safely say the press are correct - it is simply motoring perfection.
if i could afford one i would also be there
I hope so pops, I certainly hope so - couple of years yet I recon, but a nice white 997 GT3 for me next, no doubt. A fantastic bit of engineering.
yes we saw the yellow porsche in the showroom a few weeks ago.
If I lived in UK and could do with a less practical car, I might be too Although that being said, the 911 indeed drives fantastic but a well driven Spec C or Evo (with 340bp +) is also just hilaric fun and bigger sensations. So it does force the question whether it's worth twice the cost. (I know, economist in me ) Maybe in a year or two when I lost some of my wild hair.
