Performance panel filter or induction kit?A couple of people have warned me about useing induction kits on the impreza saying it messes with the air flow metre is this true? My wr1 is standard at the mo so wots best 4mine?
Induction kit would require a remap. A induction kit + remap could see you with a lesser performing car without supporting mods. The standard airbox I believe is certainly good for at least 350 bhp. The standard aribox will limit your gains at some point, but until you have the supporting mods you are advised to stick with the standard airbox
I am just going to stick with my airbox and am going to uprate my panel filter.
Which is best? Ive been told K & N. Any thoughts?? 98 DC2 Integra type R

Thanks 4the advise Il just get myself a panel filter 4now, which would be best 4a standard wr1? I live in Gloucestershire does any1 know the best place 2take my wr1 4upgrades & advise? I no of powerstation in tewkesbury where else?
Well most ppl use the RCM induction kit.. Think this was one of my first mods.. sounds ace .. And mine ran ok with out a map ...
And i think if you speke to RCM They with tell you the same thing Noticed they do a red crinckle finish now Mine's painted in 23g lol
I fitted the induction kit myself way back now.. dont think it gave me any more horses, but sounds ace... Think they cost around £180 But my buget went out the window ages ago More hp = Induction kit, uprated plugs, remap, 3" Decat, you should see 340..
Not sure .. I know APS do one which goes in wing style ..
But they say it can take in water in bad weather ..
If you really must have an induction kit the RCM kit is probably the one to go for and this one seems reasonably priced http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-g ... n-kit.html
But as WR1 Bro pointed out it would be unwise to fit one without a remap and would be completely unnecessary until you are looking for outputs over 350 bhp. They do make a nice noise though.
Totally agree with the remap, this is because your maf scales will be out and need to be altered www.wwjpc.co.uk Wales "n" West Japanese Performance Cars WR1 495

Green or K&N would be the ones personally

Don't get an STI panel filter, they are costly and sap power.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.
go for the green as the k&n is pre oiled which can mess up the sensor!!
another one for green, had one for 18 months with no probs. Makes a nice little induction noise aswell
I had a aps caik for over about 3 years never had any issue with rain at all, not saying it would'nt thou I now have a rcm ind kit.... Big debate is rcm ind kit in the engine bay where there is more volumn of air, but warm air, aps caik in the inner wing less volumn of air but cooler...... either or either whic do you chose both work well imho and would be adverse in going back to aps ! 2007 BMW M5
