New to WR1's so need to ask some questions please :)Hi Guys and Gals,
After a year or so away and a change in personal circumstances I am considering returning back to the pocket wrenching world of Impreza ownership Does anyone know the above car at all as I went to look at it over the weekend. Also any advice on what to look for with the WR1's??? Thanks in Advance Steve
aaarrrggghhSorry having a Bad day.
I can't remember what the number was (must start writing things down )but the licence plate started WN04.
I got him !
http://www.scoobycity.co.uk/wr1/phpBB2/ ... hlight=248 Welcome to the site, by the way ! And hopefully you'll get yourself a nice WR1 quickly. Nicest scoob made so far IMHO. Last edited by The Swede on Mon Oct 30, 2006 4:41 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I know the place, i know a wr1 was recently taken back there by a lady owner who lived v near me, she always drove it very, very slowly, but never came on here. it did have a plate R777 which may have been taken off ?
ignore that.
it's a different car. with 24k on the clock things to check for would be whether pads and discs have been replaced recently, if discs havent been replaced yet they probably will do soon. see how much is left in the tyres, these wont be cheap if they need replacing soon either. also be aware the 30k service will be rather costly, therefore you might want to try and haggle the price a bit. but to be fair considering it's from a subaru dealer the asking price does seem fair
Thanks a lot Dan.
Will check it all out when I go back this week as I got to take my car so they can give me a p/x value. Is the insurance considerably higher on the WR1's next to a STI UK with PPP do you know? Sorry Terreken its not No 248 I went to see I'm not sure what the number was and I only know the number plate. Cheers Steve Last edited by 248SPG on Mon Oct 30, 2006 4:52 pm, edited 2 times in total.
as far as i know the wr1 is cheaper to insure than a STi PPP
hopefully someone else can confirm this. dont ask me why. one other thing the wr1 does come with a tracker as standard, depending on when it was registered it will have probably been renewed subscription
well well, you learn something every day
Yep the WR1 is cheaper to insure than a PPP STI. The way the insurance company views it that the WR1 is a standard car as it only came as this spec (i.e it has the ppp & all the other bits & bobs on it when delivered) where as the STI PPP is viewed as a moddified car with uprated performace because the PPP is fitted by your dealer as a power upgrade option after you have taken delivery of it. Performance moddifications to a insurance company equals extra pounds.
Check your getting the tax disc holder, plaque & keyring as these can't be replaced. Most of the other points have been mentioned in the above posts. Gee
