Brakes Bits Fitted

Postby Megaman » Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:59 pm

Hiya,

I have today had fitted the following:

EBC Yellow Stuff Pads - front + back
EBC Turbo Grooved Discs - front + back
Goodrich Braided Hoses + 5.1 Fluid

The cars braking is a huge improvement over the standard spongy WR1 brakes so I am impressed with this setup. I was a bit worried about the results following some posts on here and everyone going on about AP brakes but as expected they have done the job for what I require the car for so thats cool.

The pedal never seems to go spongy even at higher speed probably due to the new hoses. I was also expecting a lot more noise when braking due to the new discs but this is discreet and nothing that I can actively hear unless i really listen out for it.

All in all im happy with the brakes ive got now compared to the standard ones which I thought were a bit dangerous and didnt stop the car as fast as I would expect. I couldnt afford the AP system front and back but am sure if money was no object that these would be number one on the list. However given money is an issue having just bought the car this setup has done the job very nicely.

Cheers

Glad you are happy fella. The braided hoses make a real difference that a long of people say you couldn't possibly notice. I certainly did notice and for the money it is one of the mods I would most recommend.

yer the brake pedal doesnt go spongy with the braided hoses and makes your brake power more constant. :D
