Changing Kenwood head unit - Easy ??

Postby rally_driver » Sat Mar 04, 2006 7:18 pm

I`m considering swapping the factory fitted double din Kenwood unit for a nice Alpine one but not sure how easy it will be & don`t want to make a mess!!

Can anyone offer any tips on how to remove the existing unit & fitting the new one ?

I`ve already purchased the silver flip down Subaru pocket to fit in the slot underneath & would apprecite any advice on avoiding the

Yep pretty easy. Wiring should be dead easy as most cars now have "standard" ISO plugs and sockets for the loom into the head unit. If you have one "standard" on the wiring and another "standard" on the new stereo then you can get adaptors. Removing the old unit is best done by following the FAQ on the ICE section of scoobynet:
