Incorrect. Mine are exactly the same as you show on your pic. Maybe earlier STi's or WRX's run on plastic.

I assume they use(d) plastic to cushion a bit the vibrations that could be passed on by the anti-roll bar. Downside is obviously that it will take some sharpness out of the handling.

Assume you want to replace them with good steel ones. Wouldn't go for any lightweight stuff as lighter metals tend to allow for more flex.

The ally ones are thick machinings , and the steel ones are rolled bar maybe 3 times smaller in thickness so there will be no difference in strength.

Its purely a looks/cost thing which ones you choose.

I know classic STI's have plastic front and rear, but dont know about New age/WR1 differences.

Still worthwile changing as the standard bushes WILL detiorate and knock.

Chris had these fitted at RCM today. Pics show the rear anti-roll bar with up-rated mounts and up-rated droplinks.

Not had a chance to see what the difference is, as Matt wouldn't let him take the car home as it was raining  , so it's still in his workshop. Hope Olly doesn't charge us extra for rent

Maybe you could give some more info about the rollbar mounts?

The up-rated mounts were just something I saw and it seemed to make sense to fit them as you can cause the oem mounts to flex when fitting the thicker roll bar and the drop links were changed for the same reason although I do not think you would have a problem with them anyway but they finished the job off,you can get up-rated drop links for the front roll bar aswell.

Yes Chris, I've already got the drop links (front and rear).

Do you have a part code for the mounts? I would like to do some research into them.
