Ha Ha.

I was not sure if it was you or a lad off the P1 site.

Define sticking? what exactly is it doing?

Does not sound as though anything wrong with the clutch, more the operating system.

First thing to look at is the mechanics in the pedal box. Check the clevis pin spring is not catching on anything or the pin has not worked its way out and is interfering with the pedal box.

Not sure about the actuating mechanism on Evo's (at the gearbox end now) but most cars have a lever that the slave cylinder presses onto, and normally this will have a return spring on it. Is this missing or is the lever fouling something?

The other mechanical thing it could be is an engagement problem with the lever and release bearing, but this is not a DIY check really as its gearbox out.

If its none of these it will be a hydraulic problem. Try bleeding it out first but its more likely to be a seal problem in the master or slave cylinder.

I understood the first line mate, and that it doesnt sound serious!

you have to understand I am almost certainly the least technical of anyone on here adn i will gladly admit it, so really i wouldnt know where to start with checking the things you discussed.

I'm happy that you don't think it's serious. i've been for another drive since and it's not done it at all, so it does seem strange it's itermittent...

I had the same problem with my former Merc (after 150000 miles though). It was the hydraulic cilinder operating the clutch that had started leaking.

Just go back to Ware ! Don't tell me it's that far. Another excuse for a good blast with the car :D
