Wr1 servicesIs the wr1 supposed to be serviced every
5 k or 10k please help escort rs 2000
escort cosworth ford rs focus scooby wr1
change your oil yourself every 3-5k using fully synthetic oil.they recommend you get them to service it every 5k,but why waist money when you can DIY?

my thoughts exactly!! even change plugs, filters, belts and injectors yourself if you have to. No better way to learn about your car than DIY... as long as you don't have bolts left over afterwards, all is good.
and if you do have some bolts left over save them for the next service Regs

DIY is all very well; but would you buy a WR1 without proof that the oil had been chaned every 5K? and the appropiate 10K work?
I would not but anything with the performance of the WR1 without full service history. You know YOU do it right, but would YOU trust someone else to do it right? IF I was planning to replace mine, I'd not buy one without FSH. When I'm not driving I'm Skiing !
Totally agree with Simon, you may know the person that does the work is competant but when you come to re-sale the car a potential new buyer may be put off i know i would be. The WR1 be safe in the knowledge that, short of strapping yourself to an Acme rocket, there's no quicker way to get from A to B.
I've never had a car worth servicing before the WR1.
But will definately be keeping the Full Subaru Service History intact! Mines just had the 5 yearly service, but is not far away from 30,000k miles. So when I hit the 30,000k, probably in a couple of months, will it have to be serviced again? I don't understand.
no you simply service on either time or mileage but not both...............
i.e you could have a high mileage car thats only a coupe of years old but it would have already had its t/belt service due to mileage, or you scenario where you don't do the miles so service at the timed intervals ASPerformance
PFC BRAKES, PAGID, MOTUL, FERODO, BREMBO, SPEEDLINE, TRS, MINTEX, PIAA, HELLA online shop!!
well, I have never sold any of my cars, and this is no different...so don't have to worry about that bit.
as long as I know it is done correctly, and it is, then all is good. plus I have a Subaru stamp anyways just to keep the book looking good! Might have to print my own receipts soon then!!
Car will next be due its service either at 32K miles (27 + 5K) or 6 months on from 26th May, whichever comes first. It was always the time element that I got the car serviced on as I did low miles. Your next one should be cheap as I shelled out for the timing belt one Rob
Rob - Thanks for you input. I've not even really had a good look in the service book to be honest. I've put 2k miles on it since I've had it, but won't really be putting that much more on it this year. Working a lot now and have company van...
Hmmm, so you're saying it's either 5k miles since last service, or 12 months after, whichever is sooner?
Anyone...
Do I need to be servicing my car every 5000 miles, or every 6 months? Whichever is sooner? Or every 5000 miles, or every 12 months, whichever is sooner?
Every 5000k or every 12months, what ever comes first, Focus ST's rule!!!
As Foley said, 5k or 12 months...
As I don't drive mine a lot, I have done mine 3 times now in the past 6k miles just make sure it is tip-top. I only have 1 stamp for the 5k service, the other was just a fluid change and full check over of brakes, exhaust etc etc Well.... Adam did mine anyway (I am inept)!! [Just incase this gets lost in translation, I am not slandering you, I know people can be sensitive to these harsh words.]
Inept... great place to start. Any more self appraisal you want to share with us?
I'll let you appraise me... mr observant [Just incase this gets lost in translation, I am not slandering you, I know people can be sensitive to these harsh words.]
do you know what is involved on a 65 000mile service as my book only goes to 60k, is it just oil & filter ???
