How do you turn this off when turning on the ignition, it goes off when the engine is started, also the oil pressure light remains on until the engine is started, is this normal and should i be getting this warning sound?

I never had this on mine... Oil pressure should start off high and reduce when warmed up. It'll obviously fluctuate when you drive but shouldn't drop low... don't know about the warning sound... I never heard mine at all so it was either a model with no sound, it was bust or all was fine!

You can't turn buzzer off. Oil pressure will sound if the engine is off because the oil pressure reading will be zero. This gauge works in reverse to other warnings like oil temp and turbo boost. With oil temp you want it to buzz when temp is high. With pressure you want it to buzz when low.
John McFiddler had a previous version of the Defi control unit IIRC (Defi 1) and this didn't have a buzz feature, it just had the warning lights.

Just leave the engine running, if the locals don't enjoy the burble then rev it a little more to a constant roar.
