MOT Question

Postby Scoobasteve » Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:39 pm

Guys,

Thinking of getting a full decat system installed but whats the deal regarding MOT testing, would you need to reinstall the stock exhaust for MOT tests like I do with my bike?

Also, are re-maps required for a full decat system.

Thanks for your help

If a full decat system is fitted, it will require a cat for MOT, although some sytems come with sports cats.
Some people reckon the Prodrive downpipe cat is as good as some decats :?

Unless you go for a 3" system, then the Prodrive cat is no good !
and if you opt for the 3" system then a remap would be required

APS do a 3" system with or without a sports cat :thumb:

I have this

You dont always need a cat for an MOT

You just need a friendly MOT man, there is plenty of them around still despite the new regs.

If you are unsure of one near you, asked your local subaru specialist (not dealers) where they suggest you take it.
