Dont waste your money on the intercoolers - they are proven to be no better than the standard version 8 TMIC. Other than that go for it. Sorry spike

Yes but it works no better than a standard one whatsoever. There have been many tests done. So its a waste of a fair bit of money.
I am talking about the APS one, dont know about the WRC item.

Had an increase on power when had a APS tmic fitted to mine, or am I just an exception to the rule ! I also believe jd did aswell but from reports the APS tmic may suffer from heat soak ! but to be fair I think they all do !

Intercooler is there to reduce your charge temps. I have seen 2 tests (22B.com IIRC) now where temps were measured at the TB in identical ambients and loads with a standard TMIC, an APS and a hyperflow. The hyperflow was worse, the APS the same. Power figures dont mean anything unless all conditions are the same and im sure you dont need me to tell you that RR figures have a human factor involved as well. So assuming your APS is identical to the one tested above, or your old standard one was in bad condition, you will not get any power increase. Simple as that. All TMIC's will suffer from heat soak to a certain degree (materials will make a small difference though) but on the move this is not an issue.

Yes a human factor may be involved agreed But who's to say a human factor was not invovled in the tests you speak of above !

If you need me to spell it out then you are being Knaive. And i wont in public anyway as you well know. Harvey did one of the tests. Very well respected. Does not sell any TMIC so does not stand anything to gain. Is simply a home 'tuner' if you like who is a bit sad at collecting data but nontheless certainly puts to bed some stupid claims that people come out with. Was only trying to stop Dan potentially wasting money. I am sorry. I wont bother the next time. Nor will i for you either probably.

Wow ! some reply that was Never question your technical knowledge ...never would Just stating there are people out there not just from WRC who've had bigger tmic fitted and have made some gains etc ! If tmic were that useless dont you think the likes of APS, hyperflow etc ! would make them ! So why don't the tuners say stick with the standard STI unit or go fmic which would be more beneficial to them money wise As we know the fmic are considerably more expensive, so perhaps someone should tell them to stop doing tmic, and just make fmic cheaper! then we all get more lag

People will always make something if there is a market for them, wether they are any better or not. If enuogh ill advised people will buy tem and make them money then thats just business. A lot of people are put off fitting a FMIC because of the cost and the fact you cant put your car back to standard due to cutting of the bumper. Neither you or i know what is best for a vendor in terms of margins, either TMIC or FMIC. If you dont understand why a FMIC costs a lot more with a bigger core, hard pipework, lots of clips and hoses etc then i can see why you can be easily shagged by salesman spiel If you want to believe a 'tuner' who sells an item over an independent who has done some proper testing then more fool you. Olly Clark will sell you a TMIC and a FMIC from APS. Ask him (or rather Matt) of his thoughts on the subject. if you cant believe hard data and engineering principles over what a biased vendor tells you, then i aint going to waste any more time trying to explain so i will make this my last post on the subject.

How does that work with regards to MOT's then?
Will you need to put a CAT back on or have you retained one?
I'm thinking of going down the same route too.
Cheers

I understand there are certain de-cat friendly MOT centres.
Maybe we should should start capturing these here as WR1's are going to approach 3 years old...
