CAI - Remap or not....

Postby Scoobasteve » Thu Oct 26, 2006 5:48 pm

Fellow WR1 dudes,

Saw this on Scabbynet.

Thoughts anyone (Marky Mark, maybe a pearl of wisdom from yourself).

Surely you'd be running lean??

Cheers

You will run leaner for sure, but wether its enough to NEED a remap to stop blowing up is difficult to tell.

The APS CAIK ones require a remap because of the 90 degree bend just before the MAF housing which really upsets air flow around the sensor. This has a filter inbetween the bend and the MAF so should not be quite as bad.

The fact is even if it does not require a remap, you will get the most out of it and be 100% certain of safety if you do, so its always best advised.

These kind of kits are very good, and as long as you are not going for big horsepower (400 BHP+) are a better option than a conventional induction kit.
