Tyres - Pirelli nero vs rosso ??

Postby robwils » Sun Mar 16, 2008 3:27 pm

Went to garage to get price for 4 tyres and noticed I had 2 x Rosso on front and 2 x nero on rear, must have been fitted by supplying dealer when I bought car. Anyone know if theres a big difference :?

I know rossos are slightly cheaper.

Quoted (for rosso) £540 fully fitted by local garage, quoute of £460 via blackcircles and it looks like the place I went was one of fitting centres I could choose via blackcircles.

Have a chat with these guys they're really helpful on Pirelli tyre choice.

I have Rossos on the flying WR1 and believe they are a little quieter than Neros which were OE but the guys below will fill you in on other details.

I will also vouch for Silverline at Warwick. There are two key guys there that live, breathe, and sweat rubber (if you can get your head around that kind of picture). They've always spec'ed my WR1 and I've never been let down. Prices are very good too, but good advice on a subjective area such as tyres is worth its weight in gold. They do a lot of specialist motorsport work too so their hearts are in the right places.
