One of my mates has just fitted the Vortex and it sounds good but I've heard the NUR on other cars which also sounds pretty good with a bit of a softer burble.
Does anyone know of any other differences apart from the sound to consider when purchasing either one of these? Are there any installation issues to be aware of?
Cheers,
John

Blitz is a straight swap for sure. Quality was lovely too. Great shine and easy to keep looking bling.
I love the blitz.
Never tried the Vortex.

Cheers Bro, have you got the Blitz on your WR1?
Looking on the Blitz website, there are 2 Impreza models "GDA/GDB EJ20T" for JDM and Euro.... I take it the one to go for is the Euro version wih larger catalyst?

I used to have a Blitz. It became too loud with a decat. Yes there are two specs as you suggest. I seem to think you want the GDB but confirm this with someone else as I know nothing.

An RCM 3inch system. Sounds nice and isn't too noisy with the decat.

Do you have to replace the cat for MOT's? Excuse my ignorance Bro, I take it that your RCM is based on performance straight through and not just the middle and back sections?
Does the RCM sound like the Blitz?
I didn't want to have to re-map, just wanted a throatier sound than the standard prodrive which sounds great but you know what I mean!! I don't want to change anything at the moment, was hoping to keep it standard until I pay the loan off other than the exhaust...!

RCM is a lovely exhaust.
If I had a standard car wouldout doubt I'd still have the Blitz because to my mind it is the best sound in the world
RCM/Marky Mark went to great lengths to help me keep the Blitz zorst but modding it to mate with the RCM decat. Unfortuntately it was far too loud. It wasn't too loud for my personal driving experience.... it was just much too loud for the neighbours, police and everyone else within 5 miles.

I might be wrong but if it's the R then he would need the centre pipe and back box but if it's the S he could just bolt on a back box??

Blitz sounds great although it is a little bit noisy for some.
Pity you didn't mention this a couple of weeks ago John, Adam has just sold my old Blitz.

Differance is one is a back box only & the other is a full system from the down pipe back. You won't need to decat for either as there is only one cat in a wr1 which is in the downpipe which doesn't need changing.

On this basis then i could install the Nur Spec R without the remap.

I thought about changing mine as it was too loud for everyday use, it had a good sound but the just too LOUD and not practical, but with the bung it still sounds the dogs, just a bit less in your face.

IIRC GDB is for the UK car and GDA is for Jap spec car? Just look at your chassis number - I think GDB will match your 4th, 5th and 6th digit?

Stevie,
Nope, I have hung back for the mo.... As Bro suggests I think it is the B you want... look in your log book at the chassis number (or on the chassis!!) and it'll say GDA or GDB in the long alpha-numeric ID. I can't remember what mine was, it was a while since I looked.
They sound awesome, let me know how you find it on your car everyday though, it'd be interesting to hear if you can live with it or not!!
Cheers,
John
