Just brought number 481 and can't believe i haven't got one of these before, just the thought of driving it puts a smile on my face.
However already looking into boosting the power it's booked in for a complete Milltek exhaust with sports cat and remap with litchfield, they reckon this will produce 340bhp and roughly 340lb of torque. Am i doing the right thing??

like the way you think mate hope that includes manifold aswell, you shud think about an induction kit to go with that before you get it remapped.

well i know a few foke that have induction kits and they ruined their MAF,it ruined my MAF in my old scoob.andy f says you dont need one unless you've got 400+hp.a good panel filter will do the trick.

Welcome matey
Are lichoes still with powerstation ?
340/340 is a bit optimistic with using a sports cat an remap, the prodrive cat already fitted is as good as they come, personally if your going for a remap you may aswell go with a induction kit and try an get as much as possible done, .....you will get bored with 340-ish, an fitting other stuff and more remaps etc will cost you extra in the long run
Is the milltek a 3" system or still 2.5" ?
Dont think there are any of us with modded cars using a sports cat

Would like to say a big thank you to all who have replied...
The Milltek is the 3" not the 2.5" I’d be curious to know if anyone out there has fitted a sports cat to their WR1 and if so have they noticed a difference, I know that the upgrade Litchfield have quoted me for is the same as they would do to a standard STI which I think I’m right in saying isn't fitted with the prodrive cat on the WR1...
Basically want to get as much power as possible without any engine mods turbo etc as personally feel this detracts from the uniqueness of the WR1.

Leave it standard mate !
By not changing the turbo you will get "turbo surge" which can be described as a juddering when not driving to the extreme, ie 6th gear motorway 60/70mph foot to the floor an you'll go nowhere, you can drive around it by dropping to 4th and getting higher up the rev range to by pass it, but it will always be there.

i have a sports cat on mines mate, didnt notice any power increase as it was originally a full de-cat,sounds a wee touch quieter tho.
i would rather buy a standard car than a modded one and get work done myself, just me tho.
