I am lucky if I can manage 5k miles a year, never mind in 6 months. Do I still need the oil change. Had my boy for about 7 months now and he is not starting very well. He is running fantastic, but, being a thicko on the techy side of things, is this oil change really neccessary. Is that why he is not starting too good?? Anyone

Not "starting" well as in lazy turnover or not firing first time ?

Is it?? So what about the fact I don't even do that in a year. It says every 6 months or 5k miles. Do I need to do an oil change now, even though I have only done about 3k miles since I bought him

Starting problem will not be oil related....
Best to change oil as recommended. I.E., 6 months.

Not firing first time, very sluggish. He is garaged over night, so can't be damp. Still under warranty

Your tracker system wears your battery down, which would cause slow turnover, but still should start quickish .... Best take him to a dealer and get a service ! p.s Ask them to put treacle in the oil as it will run sweeter

Think of it as looking after your engine. An oil change is never a waste of money.... Think of it as buying a new pair of shoes that are the same colour as the ones you got last week!!!

Not worth it for the sake of warranty for most people.... But I would still stick to this oil service interval for resale and for longevity
