If its pics then the slowdown is from the hosting of the pics not this server.
I have not noticed a slowdown on this server for the WR1OC website nor my other websites on this server. Duncan : www.racedynamix.com

Maybe the site is going like the 1s now spikey.
Its a few years old now, had a couple of owners, getting a bit tired and worn out, showing its age, not as quick as it used to be, etc, etc
Speed is fine for me... The only problem I have is when hitting the links "view posts since last visit".
A dedicated server that i run a couple of websites on. AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 1gb Ram Plenty enough for very very busy websites - it is hardly even breaking a sweat at the moment. Duncan : www.racedynamix.com

All more depending on the usage of the internet in your area.
I remember one guy from a provider explaining me at a former address that we had one cable going for the entire street so at busy times when everyone is surfing at night, the connection might slow down significantly.
Hiya,
Web servers dont normally use much CPU usage so up to date hardware isnt really critical. They normally gradually over time consume the memory by caching a lot of pages for busy websites. The speed issues you are experiencing sound like they are more than likely down to the fact you are hosting on a broadband or NTL line. The upload on these lines is normally contended and not very good at the best of times. At work ive got an old apache web server running about 10 sites using my works 12meg / 100meg bearer leased lines.
GEEK'n'Ford Freak!
I don't break into a sweat either.....it so slow I fall asleep waiting 2007 BMW M5
