FPMSL... Tight fit and by the look on my face you get a free object inserted up an accommodating passage!
For the record... I want a VXR.
What were your thoughts from the day?
Mine were as follows: 360bhp Insignia VXR looked nice when parked up. Was dissapointing to drive as I was expecting more kick in the back than my WR1. Handled like a family car rolling like a RAF Tornado. Astra VXR felt crampt inside but was a nice drive. On the sharp bends ESP kicked in all the time doing my head in and masses of understeer occurred. Reminded me of my focus st just without the top end grunt. Corsa VXR was the comfiest to sit in and by far the best suited to that track. It could take corners a gear higher than the other cars and tucked in nicely on the corners. Yes it lacked mid range to top end grunt but on a track I wasnt overtaken by the astra or insignia. I also tried chasing down a Corsa when i was in the insignia but couldnt catch it as it was so quick out of the corners. Would i swap the WR1? Nope. For a motorway cruiser with a bit of sportyness id go for the insignia over the astra. For town driving and twisty road driving the Corsa would be the easiest to live with. The astra is a bit lost as it definately struggles with understeer and putting the power down in the dry. I think WR1 Bro should get a Corsa VXR, get it tuned up to give it some mid to high end grunt and use that daily instead of the range rover...
Couple of handsome chaps
The WR1 be safe in the knowledge that, short of strapping yourself to an Acme rocket, there's no quicker way to get from A to B.
Give it a rest... I was cramped up all day Monday driving too and from Wales to save you having to drive... Moan moan moan.
Thats not a very nice thing to say about Bro and John
i had both astra vxr in arden and a2008 ltd edt astra vxr nurburgring which i have to say handled much better than my 56 plate astra vxr,+sounded swwwweeeeeeeeeet with that remus!and they hold there money much better do to there ltd status,i had a go in corsa and vectra vxr, corsa just seemed to much of a boys car and the vectra to much of a reps car so that why i went for the astra,i miss my burg very much and dont know why i sold it???
jjs

it was a cheap track day ragging the sheet out of them. Great day overall Glen!
Now that is what I like to here John haha, so you rated the corsa best ?

I quite liked the Astra overall for that track... the Corsa lacked power on the straight but was good through the bends.. The Astra did the corners well and the straights well too. The insignia was just too slow to spool up, by the time you got going the corner was on you....
I think Bro and Mega loved the Corsa from memory though!
Nice one, folk do rave about those vxr white nurburg editions, they look smart, lad up the road has a VXR insig in white, he loves it, not sure its for me though, he says its rapid lol.. Probably why I pulled about a mile on him in the M5 one day !!

They are quick for a hatch but not M5 quick!!
Alright Glen, long time no see!
The corsa was the best suited to that track in my opinion as its very tight and twisty not really many straights as such but yer it was lacking top end power definately. The astra suffered the same issue as my old ST in that ESP kicked in when cornering hard making it unpredictable even when you turned it off. I think the race driver said you need to pull a fuse out to completely disable it. The insignia was a sporty road car, definitely not something you want to be taking round any tracks really as its built more for comfort than tracking.
lets not get into that LOL

What is the Invincible like Glen? I do loads of site visits hence my fooked up Pug - it is always getting messed up and I am not going to get a decent car at the moment. Have been looking at that type 4x4 for work but haven't driven one. My mate has the Animal and says it drinks fuel.... but great for lugging equipment around and full leather too which I was suprised about but it is nice inside.
The hilux is a beast lads, 30.5mpg, however they are very expensive the invincibles, infact I think I am correct in saying its the most expensive double cab out there but yes superb piece of kit and toyota build quality is second to none in that marketplace.
