I'm with you, Yellow/black look the best imo, Red don't suit the wr1 neither does the gold brembo's,

I quite like the gold brembos tbh. Has anyone got any photos of the black/yellow AP's on a WR1?

Whilst I agree that the AP brakes are fantastic... I think you are being far too harsh on the Brembo's.

I agree, with the correct disc and pad combo the Brembo calipers do a great job.
not as good as the AP's but then again I ain't got that kinda cash to splash on a new set of brakes...when the PF ones are good enough for me so far.

Ive got the standard brembos with performance friction pads f&r, braided lines and motul rbf600 fluid and IMO there not really good enough for a car as powerful as the WR1.

I dont think im being harsh, the standard brake discs, calipers, pads are way under specced for a car with the power and ability of the WR1. It is the standard brake setup i am comparing the AP's to and not other after market brakes.
I see what others are saying about changing to different discs and pads which is fine and a good plan. I upgraded to EBC turbo grooved discs, yellow stuff pads and braided hoses which made a massive improvement over standard so i dont doubt any other third party brake system will be better than the standard. In doing so when driving the car hard on B roads I still got brake fade as they worked better but didnt cool well enough. My advice to anyone looking to use their car hard or for track days is to not go the half way and to go for APs from the start as it will save the expense i went through.

Also take into account about the brembo originally spec'c for standard sti's at 265 where as wr1's are 316.......but on the sti brembo set up is not as good as it should be !

the R35 has brakes made by Brembo but after that the similarity ends........
approx 380mm discs F&R on the Skyline with HUUUGE front calipers, when i get a chance i'll take some pics as we are currently modding some to retro fit to an R33...........
Lee, we do various kits and can sort AP very easily for you
