Certainly wasn't talking WR1 v RS Focus - do I look gay (don't answer that)!!
WR1 in garage because:- 1) I WILL lose my license 2) I will die at speed 3) Will get detented and scratched at work 4) intend keeping it for a few years 5) nice to keep it mint and drive for fun only It doesn't sit in the garage all the time. Done 5k since end of june. RS Focus replaced a rather thirsty Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Overland. RS is a hatch and there are a few practical benefits to a hatch. If anything happens to the RS on supermarket car park or at work I will not be bothered. Could not say the same for the WR1. My lady doesn't want to drive the WR1 everyday as it scares her a little and she is the same as me with wanting to keep it for fun. She also likes her Mini Cooper S Works (soon to get the extra 10bhp on offer by John Cooper). Caterham - I'm too big for a Caterham. Would like a Westfield but I want the V8 and with getting married in 2 weeks time this will have to wait. To be honest my next petrol investment will probably be a Quad bike or trade in the WRX for a WRX Wagon. Kylie (WR1) will be at my wedding!! WRX is how I got into Scoobies. I used to have a company car and a fun Mitsubishi 3000GT in mint condition that I used to leave at my mothers house during the week. She used to drive it but was always worried where she parked it and would often decide to drive her old Renault 19. I saw her struggling to drive the 19 one day so I decided the 3000GT had to go and I needed something that was fun at weekends for me and had 4x4 because my mother loves the 4x4 security in bad weather. WRX it was and I have never looked back. I still have the WRX that my mother drives 90% of the time and she adores it. I then had the PPP fitted and I was then hooked on the Scooby. I have never had such a reliable car before. The WRX is on a Y plate, covered 35k miles and causes us no problems. Different folks, different strokes I guess. Brian - love the van you nutter!! Hope I haven't bored you all with the rambling around comments that were made./
don't get me wrong - if I could afford a WR1 and an RS and a Cooper S and a WRX then I'd probably go for it !!
Please note, the Cooper S is my womans car and we jointly own the WR1. We thought the WR1 would make a GOOD SAFE family car if we have children!! Well, that is how we pitched it to my future mother-in-law who is paying most towards our wedding.
Cars are fun.
WR1 Bro - You have just succeeded in making me feel poor!!
Let me get this right, you own the following vehicles WRX WR1 RS Focus Mini Cooper S I'd best go get a copy of Autotrader and then find the balls to tell Mrs. jaycee her loft conversion, bathroom and extension just went south!! Jason
Yes, it is true but it isn't a brag session. All my cars are through hard work and nothing else. I don't NEED the WRX other than I love to see my mother driving it and she wouldn't have anything close to such a nice car if she had to buy one herself. I get a monster buzz out of seeing her so so happy in it.
Best of luck with taking the trader to the lady.... my woman is car mad and it was her that pushed us to get the WR1!! Remember, you only live once!!
WR1 Bro- Far from suggesting it was a brag session, I was admiring you!
(in a non-homosexual way!! ) Jason (I'm not gay you know) P.S. No offence meant to anyone who IS gay.
cos we've all (well nearly all ) got the same motor so theres no 'my dicks bigger than your dick' stuff going on....
I do like scoobynet but with this site I feel as though I'm getting to know people better than scoobynet....its more personal time for a group hug Last edited by Cold Turkey on Thu Sep 30, 2004 10:54 am, edited 1 time in total.
I was going to start a thread along those lines!!
I think it's because at the end of the day we're all enthusiasts. There's no muppet section etc and no need for heavy moderation so you don't get people bitching and moaning that their post was edited/deleted/moved. As membership increases this may change but for the time being it's a good place to be. In fact we all deserve a pat on the back for making it what it is!! Jason
Group hug to Group Buys.
Why don't you put some deals together for group buys. You seem to be the man who can get the goods so instead of waiting for a group to say how much for x of these. Why don't you turn it around and say I can supply x of these for
We might all nearly have the same cars but my dick is still bigger than yours!! Wr1 Bro - you mean me or CT? Jason
I wonder if Gangsta can offer us some good money related deals from the City? Share tips? Insurance scams?
There is no jealousy on this forum also ... because we all have WR1's, and we all like the colour, performance etc.
Most of the n0bs on Snet who flame the WR1 have never and will never get a chance to ever drive one!!
Has to be Quote of the site ! THE WR1 RR DVD http://www.scoobycity.co.uk/wr1/phpBB2/ ... highlight=

I've got a little bit of a brag - has anyone seen this months Japanese Performance Mag yet. The cover car is an STi8 with 532BHP and all the mods you could ever dream about including Ohlins suspension. The car has been used on drag strips over the past few months by it's owner from Iceland and is now back at Roger Clarke Motorsport for even more up-grades to take it over 600 BHP. I've only sat in the car up till now but Matt has promised me a drive in it when it's completed. So that's my little brag - that I will have driven the fastest Sti 8 ever.
Heaven can wait....I'm playing with my scooby.
