Hi guys when i got 194 just before christmas some of the limited edition items were missing I had the tax disc holder gear knob mats and service book, but no keyring or plaque! well I have managed to track down an original keyring and plaque still in the bags!! and all it cost me was a bottle of single malt, to say I'm chuffed is an understatment as I know how rare these items are...

Because I'm now reading the Czech one.
Besides, why would I lose my time going back through the English one if 97% of the British (sorry, English) population doesn't know its own language properly?

I think there are probably more French people living in your area than here. If you wanna get around here, Russian, Italian or English is more practical.

this thread makes good reading...
I wonder if they do "Queens English" for foreigners. Can you imagine Swede talking about himself in the third person?
One must got to the shops... etc...
The funny thing is even in England southerners dont know what a buffet is or a what a snicket is.

From Wiki... I made this up myself: "French Fries" -
Culinary origin
Belgium
The Belgian journalist Jo Gérard recounts that potatoes were fried in 1680 in the Spanish Netherlands, in the area of "the Meuse valley between Dinant and Liège, Belgium. The poor inhabitants of this region allegedly had the custom of accompanying their meals with small fried fish, but when the river was frozen and they were unable to fish, they cut potatoes lengthwise and fried them in oil to accompany their meals."
Many Belgians[who?] believe that the term "French" was introduced when American soldiers arrived in Belgium during World War I, and consequently tasted Belgian fries. They supposedly called them "French", as it was the official language of the Belgian Army at that time.
"Les frites" (French) or "Frieten" (Dutch) became the national snack and a substantial part of several national dishes.

Good try
Ever considered there was a verb "to french" in English that means to cut in small strips?

British chips are big, fat and full of flavour. French fries are short, skinny, cheap and normally have to be with something else to enjoy to the full extent... huzzy wrote:What the fcuks a snicket???
My point exactly.. and you will be telling me that a buffet is something you go up and eat from... huzzy wrote:Found it....

Imagine these foreigners trying to understand our language if the great north south divide have their own dialect... it would just sound "wrong" for a foreigner to give directions telling you to turn right at a snicket... like wise it would sound wrong for a northern to stand on a market stall selling Apples in cockney without the P's "Ah Ulls, come get ya Ah Ulls, 5 for a quid mate"

Imagine a foreigner understanding your dialect whereas you don't understand 3 words of any of the other languages he speaks, even in their official form...
